In light of the progression of our partnership with CPD Bangor 1876, we want to confirm our commitment to the vital partnerships we share with CPD Merched Bangor and Penrhos. Ensuring we have a strong junior partnership and a thriving women’s and girls’ teams is essential to building a sustainable and inclusive future for football in Bangor.

We believe passionately that the Stadium & Football Club partnership, through its values, brand, and reputation, can contribute significantly to helping young people who often face challenges in achieving their sporting outcomes.

We want our children to enjoy inspirational and transformational learning opportunities, so they develop and thrive as confident, capable individuals. These partnerships are central to this mission, and their impact on the community cannot be overstated.

The partnership will have the highest expectations, an inclusive approach, a commitment to safeguarding, and a determination to cultivate success for young people at the heart of everything we do.

Objectives of the Partnership

  • Progression Pathways: Provide young people with clear routes to achieve positive futures through structured and accessible pathways.

  • Collaborative Efforts: Work alongside schools, professionals, and agencies to support and raise achievement levels for young people.

  • Innovative Learning and Coaching: Develop high-quality programs that engage young people with challenging, creative, and tailored opportunities.

  • Community-Focused Programs: Deliver initiatives underpinned by the principles of challenge, choice, and customisation to meet diverse needs.

  • Building Core Values: Foster respect, responsibility, and resilience to build self-esteem and a strong sense of self-belief.

  • Safe and Structured Environment: Offer a stable and supportive space where young people can grow and succeed.

  • Strong Governance: Ensure leadership, coaching and learning programs meet the highest standards.

We are commitment to building partnerships that make a lasting difference in the lives of young people across our community. By working together, we can continue to strengthen the connection between sport and personal development, ensuring Bangor remains a place where young talent can flourish.

Chairman of CPD Merched Bangor commented on the partnership;

‘We welcome the news of the proposed partnership, something that we’ve been striving to achieve since our formation in 2019.

We’re excited by the prospect of everyone working together to achieve common goals. We are extremely grateful to have had the backing from Bangor City Stadium over the past two years in supporting our Junior and Youth pathway to our 1st Team and our FAW Platinum Accredited Club.

The partnership should see two teams from Bangor in their respective Premiership leagues in the very near future.’

Gethin Owen, Chairman of Penrhos also commented on the partnership too:

‘For me, it's incredibly exciting to see a clear pathway to adult football being established. This initiative ensures that the youth of Bangor have opportunities to stay involved in the game, which brings so many benefits—not just on the pitch but also for their health and mental well-being. Football has the power to keep young people engaged, active, and connected, and I'm thrilled to see this partnership supporting that vision.’

Glynne Roberts, Chairman of Bangor 1876 FC, also commented:

‘Bangor 1876 fully supports the development of the partnership and would like to offer the club's wholehearted support for the development of junior football in the city.’

We look forward to sharing more news around our plans in the near future.
